Steps for Signing Up for Group Lessons

 

An AJALT instructor meets with the student

to determine his or her level of proficiency.

AJALT recommends a course suited for the student.

The student has an opportunity to observe the class being recommended.

The student sign up.

Contents

For students who are new to Japan:

- Greetings and self-introductions

- Useful words and phrases for everyday activity like shopping and using public transportations

- Simple exchanges and Q&A on everyday topics

- Hiragana and Katakana

Moving on from survival Japanese to a full range of daily conversations:

- Commonly used everyday expressions and basic phrases

- Simple information exchanges and reporting at work

- Short social interactions

- Kanji and Kanji words that are commonly used every day

More accurate and natural communications in Japanese

- Basic personal information and topics of interest

- Information exchanges and reporting on familiar, everyday tasks

- Speeches and simple presentations in formal settings
