９月の中ごろには、お月見があります。
この時期の満月を「中秋の名月」と言って、一年中で一番美しい月と考えられています。

この風習は中国から10世紀に伝えられました。
月見団子やすすき、秋の味覚のぶどうやくりを供えて、お月見をします。

月でうさぎが餅つきをしているという、言い伝えがあります。
澄んだ秋の空の満月は、とてもきれいです。

９がつの　なかごろには、おつきみが　あります。
このじきの　まんげつを「ちゅうしゅうの　めいげつ」といって、いちねんじゅうで　 いちばん　うつくしいつきと　かんがえられています。

このふうしゅうは、ちゅうごくから10せいきに　つたえられました。
つきみだんごや　すすき、あきの　みかくの　ぶどうや　くりを　そなえて、おつきみを します。

つきで　うさぎが　もちつきを　している　という、いいつたえが　あります。 すんだ　あきの　そらの　まんげつは、とても　きれいです。

People enjoy O-tsuki-mi (or Moon Viewing) in mid-September.
The full moon around this period is called Chushu no Meigetsu
(or harvest moon) and considered the most beautiful moon of the entire year.

This custom was introduced from China in the 10th Century.
Tsuki-mi-dango (or dumplings), susuki (or pampas grass), grapes and chestnuts in season are offered to the moon.

Legend has is that a rabbit is pounding rice-cakes (or engaged in mochi-tsuki) on the moon.
The full harvest moon in the clear autumn skies is quite enchanting.
