Important Information about
Japanese for Busy People, Revised Series, 3rd Edition
Please note that the "Japanese for Busy People" textbook series has been revised and updated as shown in the table below:

While all of the volumes in the Original Series have been available in both the Romanized and Kana versions, only Volume I will be available in the Romanized version in the Revised Series, 3rd Edition. Volumes II and III of the Revised Series, 3rd Edition, will only be available in the Kana versions.

Please note that students who study the Volume II should already have studied the Volume I and mastered Hiragana and Katakana.

Students who wish to start using the Volume II, before adequately mastering the Hiragana and Katakana, may find it helpful to download supplementary materials, written in Roma-ji, from http://www.ajalt.org/e/publications/textbooks1.html#jbp2.

Transitioning from the Original Series to the Revised Series, 3rd Edition |

Volumes I, II and III of the Revised Series, 3rd Edition, have already been published in Japan. Volumes II and III will be available in some countries outside of Japan in 2008.

Students who have studied the Volume I of the Original Series will be able to continue onto Volumes II and III of the Revised Series, 3rd Edition, without having many continuity issues with vocabulary and sentence structures. However, if students, who have studied the Volume I of the Revised Series, 3rd Edition, were to continue onto Volumes II and III of the Original Series, they may encounter new vocabulary and sentence structures that present a continuity issue.
